Stephanie Dumesnil received a Master of Arts in Counselor Education with a focus on Agency Counseling from Louisiana State University under the direction of Gary Gintner, Ph.D. Her graduate training included an internship at the LSU Counseling Center where she worked with students and community members in individual and group counseling. She also presented a paper at the Louisiana Counseling Association Convention and received the Chi Sigma Iota Fellowship to 1995 American Counseling Association Convention.
While teaching in public school, Stephanie completed the graduate coursework in School Counseling at Texas A&M, Commerce. She received her School Counselor Certification in 2002 and is a School Counselor for Mesquite ISD. She completed her Licensed Professional Counselor internship at Center for Biblical Counseling under the supervision of the director, Bruce Edstrom, M.A., LPC, LMFT.
Stephanie views counseling as a setting where a person is encouraged to find the Truth that will lead to his/her freedom. In individual and group settings, issues are explored in the context of significant relationships with God and others. Stephanie’s training and experiences included working with individuals, couples and groups dealing with a variety of difficulties. These difficulties included:
- eating disorders
- depression
- anxiety
- difficulties in adolescence
- parenting problems
- relational issues
- abuse
Stephanie and her husband, Randy, live in Garland.
